BEIJING, China – December 4, 2007: HiPiHi™: China’s pioneer of the 3D virtual world announced that HiPiHi™ World "Genesis", after "the Big Bang",“Sundering the heavens and Splitting the Earth”, "Goddess Nu Wa Creates Mankind" and "Heavenly Duke Creates Objects”, is now embarking on the final stage of limited beta – “From Mirage to Oasis”! An embryonic virtual society is now ready for accelerated growth.
The past eight months of HiPiHi "Genesis" have left so many stories vividly emblazoned in our minds. The HiPiHi team and the lovely residents, following the same vision, have achieved together one breakthrough after another. The evolution is progressive yet inspiring, with the birth of new residents, new stories and new history every day.
The prototype of the HiPiHi virtual society (groups and communities) is growing stronger day by day. The “legendary wizard kingdom”; the " Blossom Spring " Shangri-la; the fun-filled and free-spirited “Apple Group”; the HiPiHi news broadcaster “Potato Storm”; the popular and eclectic “Peng City”；the “Easy HI” fortune telling group；the “Snow Art” Design Association; the “Ocean Star” Societies; the “Helpers’ conglomerations” ... and of course the fashionable Vidal Sassoon “Midnight Salon” which provides virtual styling-consultancy to residents; the 160,000 square meter "Intel island", including "Intel Experience Center", "Intel Activity Zone" and "Intel Partners Club"; as well as the HiPiHi "Genesis" Memorial Museum; the classical-Chinese HiPiHi Admin-Island; the legendary “Heaven Palace” ; the grand Gothic church…
Strolling amid such a vast and imaginative world, one could not help but feel utterly bewildered: upon the HiPiHi horizon, up grows an “Oasis” that is created by ourselves yet is beyond our imagination. A society that is virtual yet real is emerging…
The "Mirage" officially begins. In the upcoming months:
●A prototype of trading system begins to take shape.
The “Backpack” function is now in operation. Residents can use the backpack to manage their virtual assets and facilitate the gifting or trading of virtual items. Virtual currency, financial accounts, land and community management tools will also be introduced gradually.
●Community management tools:
Enable residents to freely establish communities and utilize functions such as information management, community member management, role settings, authority settings and internal information dissemination systems… Of course, residents can also conveniently join any communities at will.
●HiPiHi will launch a social network platform based on the HiPiHi virtual world – “Hi Me".
"Hi Me" users can build a virtual social network which connects seamlessly with the HiPiHi world. “Hi Me” allows residents to manage their database, personal profile and settings; perform search; edit their in-world friend-list; participate in a variety of community activities and engage in real-time interaction; display and manage their virtual objects , literature, images, video and various creative outputs.
●Avatar animation customization.
Residents will be able to produce and import their own moves into HiPiHi, enriching their body language and the modes of self-expression.
●Increasingly realistic avatars and natural landscape.
While the significantly enhanced flexibility of avatar modeling are deriving more refined and vivid characters, the rolling clouds, glistening lakes and swaying trees dress up the virtual world in an authentic reproduction.
● HiPiHi now Supports Flash-map uploads.
● Introduces back-end operation functions: run-time support for news alert and chat.
Now when you close the HiPiHi client, you are not exiting the program, but instead enter a resource-efficient operation mode with selected functions still enabled, namely news alert and chat. A HiPiHi icon appears on the right hand side of your tool bar while in back-end operation mode.
During the “Mirage” phase, HiPiHi will increase the number of new resident invitations to support growth of the society:
● Every HiPiHi resident, after login, will be able to conduct online invitations. The
invitation quota increases to 10 people, and will be automatically complemented after depletion.
● Resident communities are the primary building blocks of the virtual society, and exemplify
HiPiHi’s long standing sharing culture. The HiPiHi team will provide utmost support to residents in terms of community establishment, recruitment, and promotion. Details will be published and implemented soon, please stay updated with www.hipihi.com and our official forum.
