2005

   

October

 

Co-founders Xu Hui, Rao Xuewei and a few friends from their previous Internet ventures began brainstorming on a new online platform for virtual life. On this platform, it was envisaged that people would be able to pursue and experience unique lifestyles that is unlimited in its possibilities and opportunities.

     

2006

   

April

 

HiPiHi Co. Ltd was registered for commercial operations in Beijing.

     

August

 

HiPiHi receives initial investment from a renowned Chinese investment group.
HiPiHi.com, the website, goes live.

     

September

 

As staff population increases, HiPiHi outgrows the cramped offices of its “stealth” development phase to relocate to spanking new quarters at In-Do Towers in Haiding District, Beijing.

     

December

 

After more than a year of research and experimentation, HiPiHi the virtual world begins its internal alpha test. A new world is born as HiPiHi World plans a pre-launch series of development phases called -- “At the Threshold of an Era”.

     

2007

   

March

 

Phase 1 of “At the Threshold of an Era”: “Sundering the Heavens and Splitting the Earth” begins. HiPiHi enters its private beta stage for testing by invited users and partners.
HiPiHi Forum is launched amidst growing interactions between in-world residents and HiPiHi development staff. The forum will drive the creation of a framework for increasing exchange and knowledge transfer among the HiPiHi community.

Phase 2: “Goddess Nu Wa Creating Mankind” symbolises the debut of the avatar creation system and the ability of any HiPiHi resident to freely customize their unique identity; anything from skin color, body shape, facial features, actions and clothing.

     

June

 

Phase 3: “Heavenly Duke Creates Objects” refers to the object creation stage, such as buildings, gardens, clothes, tools and accessories, by the pioneering residents of HiPiHi.

     

August

 

HiPiHi announces global strategy in Singapore for partnership opportunities with IT industry leaders, virtual world industry ecosystem and other possible resident/ user communities.
